Yeah, you don't need to "tone it down" or otherwise change the way you apply makeup unless YOU want to. Anyone who tries to tell you that you need to change the way you look in order to fit their preferences is not worth your time or concern. I know, three months later and I chime in... As I lived in the Middle East, yes Arabs although conservative do wear makeup... Mostly around close friends and family. And subdued makeup for strangers. Most likely she wanted you to insult you. Period. And tell you that she though badly of you. That's it. People of other cultures, use indirect ways to insult. Americans, often don't realize it, because if we want to call someone a *****... We straight up do it. Sorry she called you a name. Your makeup had nothing to do with it. She is just a jerk.
