Today, my dad let me fire one of his guns. This was a big deal because he rarely lets anyone so much as touch them. I was so excited, I forgot about about the recoil. Now I'm in the ER with a broken nose. FML

Hi I'm the OP, I'm glad I got published that's awesome! The doctor fixed up my nose and it already feels a lot better, I think it's mostly the morphine though. Anyway I learned my lesson with guns and I doubt my dad will let me touch one again for a LONG time.

Is it normal to have a gun close enough to your face that the recoil can hit your nose? Sorry for the dumb question, I just don't know much about guns.

It's not so much that the gun is super close to your face, but with the recoil, it usually brings your arms up after you fire if you don't brace yourself. So with having your arms bent in front of you, the recoil can bring your arms and hands up and you can smack yourself in the face

Idk how he did it because the first time I shot a shot gun (when I was only 12 and kinda weedy) it just pushed against me a bit. you do hold it kinda close to ur face when your aiming but I wouldn't expect it to go into ur face. and yes, for my first shot I was aiming, I hit a crow :D

gun control doesn't stop gun violence all it does it make it hard for good people to get guns people who want to do bad things are going to do bad things no matter what it's like saying there will be no more pain medicine and that will stop opiate abuse but the people whom are addicted will go to something more illegal like heroin

Every firearm has recoil. Some guns have the power to put you on your ass. You just have to be cautious about firearms bud. Or at least Google info if you must.
