Today, my dad's girlfriend threw me a birthday party and all the gifts, decorations, and the cake were according to my age, which they thought was 12. I turned 13 today. FML

I think it's sweet your dad's girlfriend did all that for you. At my age right now I don't really see the fml-ness about accidentally thinking you're 12 instead of 13, but I suppose that when you're younger it seems like much bigger of a deal. Either way, happy birthday! By the way, what do you mean by "all the gifts" being according to the age 12 instead of 13? Did she get you something you would've loved to get one year ago but now hate?

my olds allways ask what year im in or how old i am it's not a big deal if it upset u just go whisper " im thirteen" and theyll say sorry and maybe do their best to rectify the situation but coming onto fml and complaining to people who dont give two ***** about u and think that u are too young for this website isn't the way too go p.s sorry grammer nazis im on my phone and persanolly cant be arsed to check. my spelling or grammer for people on the internetz

What is wrong with all of you? At 13 it IS a big deal. And while I'm not sure a 13 year old should be on this website, if her own father is unaware of her age there is something wrong. Sorry girl, that stinks!!!!!!!!!!!

How about assuming the woman that was trying to be really nice to you mixed up your age because you don't ACT LIKE IT. Honestly, a 13 year old whining after her father's girlfriend took the time to make her a nice Birthday party? You sound like an immature little snot nosed brat in my eyes, OP. Congratulations, you're 13 now, a teenager. So why didn't you go to a club or cafe or restaurant even with your friends to celebrate like one instead of whining like an ungrateful little kid because the adults did a minor mistake? In my opinion YDI for not acting like you're 13.
