Today, my drug addict of a roommate convinced herself my red kitten was Pennywise the clown in disguise waiting to kill her, and hit him over the head with a pan. FML

Hey guys, OP here. I talked to my landlord about my roommate a few hours ago. She's a very sweet older lady, and she was in tears when I told her what happened. My roommate now has 48 hours to get out. I took Paprika to the vet right away, and they said she'll most likely survive, but it's possible she'll have brain damage. She woke up in the car on the way there (after a good ten minutes of not moving, I was so afraid she didn't make it) but they gave her something to make her sleep for awhile. Thank you all for your support!

You should hit her over the head with a pan.

Thank you so much for posting an update. Even though you are a complete stranger, I couldn't help but worry about your kitten's wellbeing. I wish you all the best!

Remember kids, if a stranger offers you drugs say thank you because drugs are expensive.

Call the cops. The poor kitten! I don't know if it's okay or not, but a kitten is fragile and a pan could kill it. Idk if the girl is your friend so maybe you wouldn't want her in trouble but if she is your friend, you should help her get into rehab. Calling the cops may do that, especially if you talk to them, they can always talk to the D.A. and the court can give her a choice between some kind of punishment or rehab. Also, I don't know what kind of drugs your friend is on, but I have a history with drugs, and I now work as a drug counselor for a rehab center n NY. I'm clean for 5 years now, but when I was using I was using a LOT, and heavily, and I never imagined an animal was a clown trying to kill me, or anything even remotely close to that, and I've never met anyone who has either. The only drug that I can imagine might do that would be bath salts (never did them myself, but I have worked with people who have and I've read a lot about them). Whether or not it was them, the girl needs psychiatric help, because those drugs will mess you up for a long time, not just until the high wears off. If it's not bath salts, then she has some serious issues, because most people who do or have done drugs will tell you that is NOT normal- even for someone tripping on acid or mushrooms it's a stretch.

I hope you realize people have different states of mind and no two minds are alike. I don't do drugs, but it easily could have been a bad trip. Not everyone sees the same things when they're ****** up on drugs.

How the bloody hell could this get 3000+ YDIs? I hope your kitten gets better. :(

People are saying I should have know she was an addict. Fair enough, I suppose, but my cat certainly didn't deserve to be hit with a pan, thank you :)

i'll be honest, if someone did that to my cats, they'd be coming to get the human with an ambulance...

If someone hit my cat with a pan I'd beat them with a blunt object.. I love meh kitty.

Sorry to hear about Paprika OP. Your former roomie had no right to do that regardless of her state of mind or any influence that she may have been under at the time. If someone hurt my two cats they wouldn't last long at all. Hope Paprika makes a full and near perfect recovery. THANK YOU for keeping us updated as many commenters besides myself are quite concerned. Please give thanks to your wonderful supportive landlady as there are not too many that allow cats and for her to be so helpful in this crisis makes her an angel!

I lived with a drunk, can be a very scary situation especially when you have no money. But why have tut not kicked them out when you found out they were an addict.

She didn't find out she was an addict until after she hit the cat

ydi for having a druggie living with u
