Today, my elbow was having cramps and movement issues as a result of an old set of surgical pins and wires that are being rejected by my body. One painful twitch caused my arm to lock out straight, unintentionally slapping my hand into my co-worker's crotch. Our waiting customers giggled. FML

My co-worker is one of nicest people I know, he just kind of cringed and grunted, instantly beginning to tell me that it was okay. He knows I've been having trouble with that arm, so he doesn't hold it against me. I did give an apology several times though. The customers, on the other hand, were all fairly immature college kids. It was their laughter that really embarrassed me.

Looks like you need to get that looked at op. = if its rejecting them and nothing was done about it then something worse might happen.

Thanks, I'm in the process of getting it repaired. I actually had the X-ray taken last year and a surgery scheduled to remove the metal, but my health got pretty bad so I've had to put it off for awhile longer. I've been on antibiotics for most of this year, as well as having had a few surgeries and other medical procedures in the past months, so it just seems like a good idea to wait until my body is little stronger before I go under the knife again. Plus, the material seems to have slowed down in the process of actually moving, the pins and wires are just caught in a way that my arm will get kind of temporarily stuck straight or bent. It's unfortunately great for the shock value though, because the tips of the pins push the skin up as visible points, and the skin is usually a bruised color over them. The more troublesome wire is just under the surface now and can be seen and felt as it goes around the outside of the elbow. I'm concerned that some of the metal may wear through. It definitely needs to be taken care of soon though.
