Today, my grandmother got my future mother in law's phone number somehow. She managed to upset her so much that my fiancé now wants to call off the wedding. FML

Hey guys! OP here. So, I am still not totally sure about the exact content of the conversation, but basically, my grandmother comes on very strong, and has some very strong opinions. She enjoys telling other people what to do, and can often come across as being rude, even though she means well. Apparently, Grandma was telling my future MIL that she (my MIL) was going about things the wrong way, in regards to the wedding, and coming across as if she were insulting her parenting. Fyl regardless but it's kinda hard to judge without knowing what went down. Some people are a lot more sensitive than others but sorry you have to go through something like this

I would have to say, that without knowing what all was said, if your fiance is willing to call of a wedding due to 2 other family members fighting - your relationship wasn't as solid as you thought it was, and probably shouldn't be getting married anyways.

However, I am curious to know the details of the conversation.

I'm sure that once you explain things, she'll change her mind.

Honestly, it sounds like you have a problem with your fiancé just as much as with your grandma. If his mother can convince him to call off your wedding when you've done nothing wrong, then he's not ready to get married and he's probably not the right guy for you to fight for.

So I'm trying to read the OP's comment , but more often than not I can only read part of the comment that's written. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm using the phone app... thanks!

I can't even see a comment by the OP. I see ten comments, and the orange comment balloon says 19!

I am on the pc and the OP's follow up is cut off. I guess we may never know the whole story.

I'm going to guess your MiL was quite rude to and you confided in your Grandma. Your Grandma, being protective of her Granddaughter, somehow managed to get the MiL's number (maybe through your phone while you were maybe on the loo) and expressed her feelings about the treatment of you in a not so nice manner. Your fiancé, probably a Mummy's boy who wouldn't defend you against his Mother, now wants the Wedding called off. How close am I?

Started happening to me randomly like a month ago as well, and I have no idea why
