Today, my landlady cut off the Internet to my flat. She says she has no use for it, and doesn't want to keep it anymore. I have 3 online assignments due in the next week, and finals the following week. FML

That sucks but call the provider and put the Internet service in your name. They'll come out the same day or the next day and set up your service. Problem solved.

Well, I hope it was mentioned in your lease! What ever it costs to set it up for yourself, show her and have that amount removed from your rent! If not I guess your going to Starbucks and the public library. Sucks!

if you signed a contract and that was part of it she is legally obligated to keep it on. if it wasn't and you were sneaking hers than ydi.

OP, Grow up and pay your own bills. Your mom... Err um i mean... your "Landlady" doesn't have to support you any more. Property Owners have no legal control of the utilities over a legit rental property when rented to an actual Tenant. If what you say is true as you said it, she can't legally do anything to the internet if it's your utility and she can be sued. And you aren't responsible to pay your rent until the utility is restored. Looser.

It really amazes me how inconsiderate some people are. Just because SHE has no use for internet doesn't mean everyone else that lives under her name, don't. FYL, man. Go to the library and good luck!
