Today, my mom realized we have been sharing tooth brushes because they are similar colors. I told her it doesn't really matter since we're mother and daughter. She responded by saying that she loves me, but she has no idea where my mouth has been, and she doesn't want my diseases. Thanks mom. FML

Sorry OP, but that's disgusting. Your mouth has more bacteria than there are people in earth... I wouldn't be surprised if the toilet water was cleaner. And your toothbrush is probably even worse because germs from the many different times you've used it is on there and it all adds up. It's not really a YDI because you didn't do anything wrong, and were just trying to reassure her. But still gross. :P

Whilst what you say is true, do you object to kissing someone? If so, would you share the same toothbrush as them? I'm not saying this because the OP should be kissing her mum or something, it's just that I don't see how this argument can hold properly. I mean, I can understand someone not wanting to share their toothbrush, but by accident and the person knows they don't have anything... I don't mean to get at you specifically, I'm just curious and this is one of the few posts I saw with this argument.

I'm not sure how you felt insulted even for a second because your mum didn't want to share a toothbrush with you. To many people, it is absolutely disgusting. Even if you don't feel the same way, you should be able to understand where she's coming from.

yuk that is nasty it is never ok to share a toothbrush with anyone no matter who they are or whatever else you may share of theirs....I won't even share a bottle of water with my own mother
