Today, my mother burst into tears and hysterics when she found out my fiancée and I were not "pure" for our upcoming wedding. I'm 28, she's 27, and we've lived together for four years. FML

I'm curious to know how she found out you weren't "pure."

I'm sure she thought you slept in different bedrooms, and coordinated your schedules so you could avoid each other until you were married.

Did she think you guys were playing scrabble For 4 years? Slept in separate rooms? Is she completely insane? There is just no logic here your mom needs help.

What I don't understand is this "purity" thing. That you are considered impure because you decide to have sex is pretty obscurantist. If God exists, why make sex so good and enjoyable and consider it as sin when done outside marriage? It's like putting a bar of chocolate in front of a person trying to lose weight: tempting them to make them feel bad if they don't resist. Talk about being compassionate...

Omg that sucks. My cousins are starting to find spouses in life and get engaged and when we went on a trip and my cousin shared a room with his girlfriend my grandma was like "omg no! They aren't married!! What if they have sex! I know it's a natural thing! But he's (my cousin) is still in school!!"

How is your mom 27 and your 28?! And even if it was the other way around... How'd she have a baby at one years old I'm confused....

How did that conversation come up...

Well if you lived together for four years I would assume you weren't "pure"... oh well

I thought I was supposed to cry about my love life, not my mom.
