Today, my mother kindly brought me some soup as was recovering from having my tonsils out. Spicy Mexican bean soup. Yep, very spicy. FML

"Kill them with kindness" is probably her moto

Yeesh you have my sympathies. I had my tonsils removed when I was pretty young and I very stupidly tried to eat 1. Biscuits and 2. Tortilla chips at some point... I recommend you try neither

Still have my tonsils, but I do know that that is the complete opposite of what you need. I feel for ya!!!

I don't know how to tell you this, but your mom's an idiot. And she knows NOTHING about good parenting

I wouldn't say she knows nothing about parenting, she tried to bring OP soup... Just because it wasn't the best choice of soup doesn't mean she sucks at parenting

I don't know how to tell you this, but your mom's an idiot. And she knows NOTHING about good parenting, or any kind of parenting at all!

This good be OP's favorite soup for all we know just there was more kick added. Calm down.

What'd you do to piss her off so bad?? Sounds like her revenge was served hot and spicy...

OP, the spiciness isn't the only problem I see. Eating things like beans vs strictly only broths may cause problems too. My sister had her tonsils removed 2 years ago. Every swallow of even her saliva was like daggers! She ate soups with things other than just strictly liquids and didn't realize it scraped her scabbing off. She didn't know it had opened up the wound and was bleeding internally until she threw up tons of blood that was dripping into her stomach! She had to go to the emergency to get it re-cauterized.

Well, your mom could've thought about a speedy recovery.... you know... 'Arriba, arriba!! Andale, andale...' LOL Anyhow. I hope you feel better OP

well you might have to eat a lot of ice cream after that...

I recommend frying up some habaneros with her eggs for next mothers day
