Today, my mother taught my 98-year-old great-uncle to knock on the wall if he needs us. He can't remember who we are, but every hour he can remember to knock to ask, "Is it breakfast yet?" FML

This reminds me of an old person misusing life alert!

Just leave food next to him so he can always eat without questioning!

at least its not every minute

I want to euthanize myself before i have to depend on anyone for my every day needs. I know its in no way their fault but it just sounds like torture for every single family member. Id rather my daughter remember me as her mother and not a responsibility.

That is a very loaded comment (and discussion), but I agree with you...

Reminds me of my 90 year old father who sometimes calls for me early in the morning. I got up to see what he needed for him to ask me what time I want to get up

Dementia is a strange disease, ive seen its effects first hand. I know its hard but try and remember he's family, and if he knew any better he wouldn't do what he does. That having been said... FYL indeed.

Hector Salamanca? Give him a bell

That's an example of how our brains work. Interesting! Try changing the habit from knocking to something more practical for the both of you.
