When the time comes for a good night kiss, it's going to be awkward.
Do you know how many times that YOU have embarrassed them over the years? From all your public meltdowns 'cause your parents wouldn't buy you that stupid toy at the store, to saying the wrong thing in front of your parent's friends. IT'S PAYBACK TIME!!!!
Wanna know a secret? Most of the time, kids don't know better. Adults do (or they should, at least).
"Saying the wrong things in front of your parents' friends"? Seriously? It's expected that kids will not be able to read their parents' minds, no payback warranted there. Almost all small children throw temper tantrums. It's expected. No payback warranted. Parents do not get warrantless payback for things that most all small children do. If op threw a temper tantrum after the age of around 7 it may warrant punishment, but payback is almost never the right answer.
Whoa, ok 76 public melt downs along with dirty diapers and saying the wrong things in public are what parents sign up for when they have /adopt children. "Pay back" can take many forms and if ops parents are interested in pay back they would probably start whipping out the baby pictures and embarrassing stories. The fml here sounds like the parents are concerned about the ops well being and in some cultures it is expectied for parents to chaperone their child's dates no matter what their age is.
They need to let go for at least a few hours...or keep your dates underground.,.
In my family, you'd also get all your siblings, any nearby cousins, and an aunt, in addition to your mom.
Depending on your age thats reasonable as long as your parents keeps their distance so that their presence isnt felt too much by the two of you however if youre 16+ then most likely they are over protective or they dont trust your date enough
How old are you?

Damn, now you have enough extra wheels for a full car! They probably just don't have enough reasons to get out anymore.
Maybe you should just invite your date to your house.
