Today, my parents took my iPad back to the store and exchanged it for two cheap knock off tablets. Reason being my little brother threatened to run away because I had one and he didn't. I bought the iPad on my own after graduation. They kept the difference in price. FML

hello! OP here. Originally, I was very upset, I hadn't been home when it happened and when I came back I found out. I have since talked to my parents, and found out my mom was the one who did it, but she put the extra money back into my bank account. I do live with my parents until I go off to college. The Ipad was an overzealous purchase, and after messing with the tablet its not so bad. As for my brother, my dad sat him down and talked to him about how it was wrong to do that and he needs to earn stuff, etc etc etc. And his tablet will be returned. So I guess in a sense everything is ok now. xD I wasnt expecting to have this accepted, I didn't even have an account till this morning.

Why did you let your parents take it? I wouldn't have given it up without a fight.

Your brother is bluffing. He would come back if he ran away. They always come back.

Oh that sucks. Just throw a conniption fit lol

Well. Time to move out! Sorry for your terrible parents. And your spoiled bro.

Yell at them. If parents actually believe you're as serious as you really are, you can accomplish a lot.

Spoiled kids nowadays. Patents are usually to blame

Holy christ. That's real shitty from your parents.

Graduation from ??? College? If so then you should not ask anything from your parents at that point.

1) it was wrong of them to even take your notebook. 2) it was wrong of them to Not give you back the extra money. If it was me I would have called the Police and filed a theft report on them. They had no right to take your tablet away from you because of your Whiney little brother. I would teach them a lesson they would soon never regret and file a theft report and refuse to drop it until you get what's tours back

Regardless of your mature outlook, your brother sure isn't gonna learn a lesson from this!

If these "knock-off" tablets are high-end android tablets, then I'll scream.

That is theft. If you bought the iPad with your own money, then they have no business take it and exchanging it. Your sibling is a spoilt little brat... Your parents have no business making you compensate for the fact that he is being a demanding little shit. Can you get your hands on the receipt for the two tablets? If so, take them back with the receipt and explain to the person working there that your iPad was stolen an then exchanged. They should understand and you should get your iPad back. If not, you have a legal situation on your hands. I have an iPad... In fact, I am typing this very message on it now. If anyone did that to me there is NO WAY IN HELL I would let them get away with that... No matter who they are.
