Kuromaus tells us more.
Hey, OP here. A few things I couldn't put due to word limits: the flight I was getting off was coming in late due to weather. I literally had one minute to get to the gate once off the plane. The connecting flight had started loading at the same time we landed. On top of that, the crew to dock us were having issues and delayed us in getting off. I wouldn't have even had time to stop at a bathroom on the way. The gate I needed to get to was upstairs. Since it was a delay out of my control, I did get moved to another flight for free, it just happened to be the latest one heading back to home. I could have probably made it to (or barely missed) last call if I hauled it but I was not going to do that while bleeding. I didn't know that airplanes had amenities like that in the bathroom. I've never actually been in one, and it was only my second time flying. (That toilet paper trick doesn't work for me, mine is too heavy, sadly.)

This is why you should keep pads/tampons in every purse you own in the inside zipper portion. Life lesson learned the hard way! lol Also you should have just used toilet paper from the air plane washroom. I understand if your flow is heavy, but you could have folded it many times to make it thicker to at least prevent the amount that leaked, versus just letting it all flow out into your pants. Or ask a fellow female passenger if they have something. Much better to bite the bullet and ask than to soil yourself.
bummer, but you should be old enough to know the toilet paper tricks , they don't last long but you can change em during the flight and as the others said they have them on the plane.
If you had any luggage with you a folded up sock or other pair of underwear can hold even heavy flows for a few hours, certainly more than a tampon. You can always buy more undergarments if you feel washing is inadequate. It may be bulky and weird but in a sitting situation that's easy to hide.
if you don't want to ask a flight attendant for tampons or if you ever find yourself in a situation where nobody has any to spare, assuming you don't have super heavy periods you can just fold up several sheets of toilet paper to avoid bleeding until you have access to something more suitable. it's not ideal but i think we can agree it's way better than bleeding through your clothes.
I'm not a female, but definitely worth the wait. Sorry about this misfortune
This sucks. Sorry, OP.
You're going to bleed, anyway, you should have stuffed some tp in your underwear and made your flight. Planes have bathrooms with more tp and maybe if you had asked a flight attendant , she would have been able to help you. Unless you were hemorrhaging, some tp probably would have tided you over. Good luck on your wait and next flight.
I likely wasn't going to make my flight anyway, as I said. They had been boarding for the past 30 minutes by the time I got off my plane. It was an airport I've never been to before, and my gate was somewhere upstairs. I might have been able to barely make it, who knows. I would have had barely enough time to get on, find my seat and put my carry on in the overhead before takeoff.

If you have a sweater or something, you could also tie that around your waist. I usually do that if I don't have pads or tampons and my period does not leak through my underwear, pants and sweater.
Mine is particularly heavy because it's also very short compared to others. Only for 36 hours at most. It'll ruin whatever I'm wearing, underwear, and pants. But next time I go on vacation I definitely do need to pack a few pads and tampons just in case. I think the stress of being late to my connecting flight to begin with is what triggered it.
Sorry for your troubles but being messy may be the least of your worries. Two weeks early sounds more like implantation bleeding .
Not necessarily. Sometimes it just goes a bit irregular.

There's a little drawer in airplane lavatories with complimentary amenities for this type of situation.
next time just ask a flight attendant. They always have some.
