Yeah, I've heard that line three times. That's why I stopped going.

No worries mate, it's not you. It's your therapy. I am studying Psychology for Year 12 in Australia and the teacher told us it's either the therapist or psychiatrist is too lazy to help or don't know what to do. So they will find this kind of excuse to make you go away....

He or she did what us in his or her scope of practice. Every therapist will have limitations and it is unethical to practice outside of those limitations. Think of it this way: would you want a heart surgeon to work on your brain?

That could've been phrased a little more sensitively, but at least your therapist knows his/her professional limitations, which is good. It would be unethical and actually dangerous, too, for your therapist to attempt therapeutic measures that are out of his/her scope and ability. Trust me, even though it's not a fun message to receive, you're way better off this way.
