Today, our e-mail server went down. When I called IT to find out what the status was, they told me they e-mailed everyone with an update. FML

This is genious. When the server gets back up, you'll get the email right away, and you'll know it's fixed. Asking about it won't change anything and that way IT doesn't waste time explaining stuff to everybody. Hahaha

Honestly, I think IT was messing with you. They'd obviously let you know when it was fixed, and they're working on it as fast as possible. The many times people have come to tell my husband and his team when things weren't working; They're working on it. I'm sure that's your IT's humor.

One time the IT department at my boyfriend's school reset the password for every teacher's email with no warning and subsequently emailed everyone their new password when they asked for it. My poor boyfriend had like eight emails from them with his new password once one of his colleagues figured out the pattern and told everyone else. It was like eight days in August, but still.
