Hey OP here, in my car... I work 11-12 hours 6 days a week so though I wish for a dog, I can't. I stay in the car because when I go in I have to plan for the next day. In the car it's quiet and peaceful. Living with others was worse but I am a lonely person. I do sometimes drink a beer once I'm parked. I agree it's sad and I'm not a very social person and I hate it about myself.

I feel ya!
Lol Damn but I totally gave those moments too! Fyl OP
I use to do that too. Living alone, knowing that there will be no one to ask you how your day went and stuff is a lot harder then it looks like.
It's good to know that I'm not the only one that does this
I used to do that too. It des stresses me
OP, if at all possible, find something you enjoy to fill those lonely hours while interacting with others. Even if it's just online, like a fan club for your fav show. You can meet like minded people and maybe get some friends while participating in something you care about--it helps that empty feeling. Volunteering at an animal shelter comes to mind (because I also think a pet would be good for you, my cat was my only company for 2 years while I struggled to get chronic illness under control and she was the happiest aspect of my life during all that), but really anything would be better than trying futilely to hide from your own sense of isolation.
wow, that's brutal to be more comfortable in your car than your home, maybe you should consider becoming a truck driver, , best of both worlds
Here in my car i feel safest of all

I dont understand why someone would do that?
To the people that are all commenting about not understanding why; it's that a home can feel big and empty. Also that homes are generally seen as having multiple people in them. Whereas it is 'perfectly normal' for a person to be by themselves in a car The OP doesn't want to go home and face the realization that they're all alone, possibly with no family, friends and/or loved ones
