Today, the dentist had to give me a lot of novacaine because my mouth wasn't becoming numb. After the 4th time the entire right side of my mouth was numb, except for the 2 teeth getting worked on. FML

Today, I went to the dentist to get a hole in my tooth filled. After the dentist had injected the anesthetic into my gums, she realized that none of the electrical equipment was working. She sent me home. My entire right side of my face is completely numb and swollen for no reason. FML

Today, I was at the dentist's and she was hands deep in my mouth with a drill, when the power for the whole block shuts off. For 3 hours, the dentist had to keep shooting me up with shots to numb the horrible pain. FML

Today, I went to the dentist to get a filling. Instead of giving me Novocaine, my dentist decided he was going to use a special new paste on me while he drilled. It didn't work. FML

Today, I went to the dentist to get a cavity filled. The numbing medication didn't work, so I felt everything. I was in so much pain that I accidentally bit down on the dentist's finger, causing him to yell in agony. Now, I have to find a new dentist. FML

Today, it was the fourth time I've had major dental work done, because my dentist messed up my root canal. After almost a dozen needles, three missed work days, over $1,000, and 2 broken tools, I only have a tiny, barely-successful filling to show for it. FML

Today, I went to the dentist to get a tooth filled. The nurse just finished taking my info when the doctor came in and started drilling. Through my chorus of screams he realized he'd forgotten to numb me. His only response was, "Guess I forgot to numb ya, huh?" while giggling. FML

Today, I went to the dentist. I had to get a tooth removed. In the middle of the procedure, the power went out. I had to sit there for an hour to wait for it to come back on. The anesthetic wore off before he started working on me again. FML

Today, I went to the dentist after 24 hours of severe tooth pain. They did an emergency root canal. After the anesthesia wore off, within minutes, the pain returned only worse than before. Called the dentist, I had to return, only to find they had done the root canal on the wrong tooth. FML

Today, I had my wisdom teeth pulled. The local anesthesia worked on three of the four teeth. I found out about the last tooth when the dentist was mid-yank. FML

That happened to me when I was getting stitches on my face from a dog bite, that felt terrible. Worse off, I went to the emergency room with a maxi pad against my face just to contain the bleeding.

happens to me all the time. my dentist actually told me she couldn't legally give me anymore novacane after she injected me 4 times.

Yeah, same thing has happened to me multiple times. Sometimes they just can't get it close enough to the nerve they're going to be hacking at. I usually just tell them "look, don't inject any more than 3 times or else I can't eat for the rest of the day. Just drill it, I'll get over it."

mines was even worse they injected me like 20 times (no joke, some stupid asian chick that didn't know how to speak good enlish) and they finally pulled the tooth out with me almost screaming because i had to hold the pain..... they first numbed my mouth at 3:30ish and i was still numb at 6:00 am. the next day

I had to get 9 shots, and the whole left side of my face was numb, and the one tooth he was working on, wouldn't go numb, he eventually just went through with the filling, and I could feel all of it, and if that's not bad enough, I couldn't talk properly for 24 hours, as I was slurring all my words.

That happened to me except it was on the left side of my face mouth when having an infected molar removed. After 8+ shots and still in pain he gave me 2 shots with the needle against the side of my tooth. That finally worked.
