Today, to save money, I bought some meat in bulk. When I got home, I was told that power to the neighborhood was out, and probably would be for days. Rather than let the meat rot, I barbecued it all and gave it away to my neighbors. The power came on while everyone was eating. FML

Well, now you can go up to your neighbors when you have no food and say "remember that steak I made you..."

You know OP, having a more plant-based diet is much cheaper (for you as an individual, but also environmentally etc if you care about that stuff). Let the thumbs down begin.

Don't worry OP. everyone in SD did that. We all had neighbors knocking on each others doors giving away ice-cream. And like 3neighborhood bbq's. I gotta admit it was a nice experience tho.

You should have started charging them

I hear the exchange rate for karma is pretty good.

Yeah I live in San Diego and our power was out for 12 hours. Power outage included SoCal, Arizona, New Mexico and some of Mexico. We cooked all our meat too and shared with all our neighbors, because we were told it was going to be out for 48 hours min could be more. It was kind of a big thing. So people saying "put it in freezer or go to a relatives..." yeah. No. Lol.

Did you know your freezer stays cold when the power goes out
