Today, while at the Golden Gate Bridge, I spotted a large group of Asians trying to take a picture. Trying to help, I slowly say, "You... want me... take picture?" while using hand motions. The man looks at me and says, "No thanks asshole, I got it," in plain English. FML

just because someone is of a different race doesn't always mean they don't speak the language of which country you're in. think before you speak

Wow that's a complete dick move, racist -_____- I'm glad you let the world know you did such an atrocious thing.

The almost entirety of the people posting here are such morons that I'm seriously concerned about how they can be able to breathe and go about their lives without suffocating in stupidity. He WASN'T being racist. He was assuming (wrongly, but he was well intentioned and trying to help) that the group were TOURISTS. Ever heard of that?? It's not about racism, it's about when you see a group of people trying to take a picture of a monument in a very touristic area, it's often a very safe assumption that they are NOT from around the place. If they were locals, why in the F*** would they be taking pictures of the local monuments?? It's a possibility, as it was the case in the OP's situation, but the much more likely possibility is that they are not from around there, hence tourists, hence people who may or may not speak the local language. Hell, if they'd been white and blond and all, it would have been very possible to assume they are tourists from one of the Scandinavian countries or whatever other place abroad with a large blond community. It's an assumption, yes, and there's always chances of it being wrong when you make an assumption, but the point is, the OP was not going at it with bad intentions. He wasn't being racist, he was trying to help the tourists. Of course, speaking slowly etc. doesn't always help, but the important point here is: IT WASN'T RACISM, YOU MORONS. Sheesh.

Yes again silly, it's funny to say so. Not everyone has to be a local from a foreign country. I go to a million places and take millions of pictures of different amazing monuments. Obviously you don't even realize it was stereotyping. Just because they are taking pictures it doesn't matter who or what ethnicity they're from. Think again dim-wit before you speak rudely to others. Plus not everyone needs to be a foreigner to take pictures of monuments. Again it was rude of him with good intentions (kudos) but it was still not "diplomatic" of him to do. You're the Moron!!

being asian doesnt mean we dont know english. in fact i have some frens who only speak english and cant speak a word of chinese :/

that is the "y u no" picture in the illustration and it could have been better if the person was "fffffuuuuuuuuuuuu" at the end
