AAAAAAAhhhhhAA! This happened to me EXACTLTY about a month and an half ago, except I drove my car in, and after standing at the drive-thru (among the exhaust-spewing cars), they did actually serve me, but I felt like a complete doofus. Were you in Tennessee, by any chance???
When I worked the drive thru we served two people on bicycles - surprisingly they were heavy enough to trip our microphone. *24 - it might be the big town corporation that set the no-serve without a car rule. For example, the owner of a sonic could loose his lease for serving someone at a drive up who isn't in a car. Loosing your entire livelihood isn't worth giving one person one meal. And when you work for a big corporation like that, they send in mystery shoppers who create problems just like this to ensure that you don't break said rules
Oh the irony! FYL.
FTL if they don't want business that's there fault.
*FTL. If they don't want business, it's their fault.

Sucks that happened to you, guess their food would be as crappy as their policies then.
If you went on all fours and started making serious vroom noises, Maybe they wud've served ya! L0l, kidding. Major fail. Hope you went to a corner shop thereafter!
