KennyJF7 tells us more.
I'm the OP, and the bunny was in a patch of grass oddly taller than the rest, and I didn't know it was there until I backed up because I thought I hit a tennis ball for my dog.

I could think the feeling would be equivalent to roadkilling a cat or squirrel; you feel bad for the first minute then you just laugh it off. It happens to the best of us, OP! **** the bunny's life.
you shouldn't just "laugh it off". killing something is not funny
It's not funny killing something indeed. I laugh about myself, not the bunny, about the idiotic mistakes I do. If you can't laugh at yourself, then how can you laugh at anything else? I think people see the human side of you when you do that.
The bunny doesn't have a life.
Maybe it's me, but if I ran a cat over, I would feel a hell of a lot worse than if I ran a squirrel over (which I have).
Well I'm certainly not gonna mourn a cat that threw himself under the wheel. If you were sad for everything that died, you would not function very well as a human being. Things live and die, and that's the beauty of life. Sure it's not all fun and games when you stomp an animal with your car, but it's not your fault and it happens to everyone, although you try to avoid it.
36- the bunny has as much of a life as you do
Not in the eyes of the law, church, and most other people.
106, I meant it doesn't have a life anymore.
My mum accidentally hit a possum in the middle of the road last week, and we stopped the car and went to make sure it was okay, and then took it to an emergency vet. When most people hit an animal, they're empathetic, or upset for a while, and if you aren't, you should probably see a specialist, because that says more about you, than anyone else. OP, sorry about your situation, I hope it wasn't too traumatising. :(
Must be wabbit season
Duck season.
Rabbit season
Duck season
Duck season
Duck season.
****** season.
It's rabbit season twice! Goodness glaciers..
You can adopt a bunny and make this a positive. Accidents happen, but you can adopt and save another bunny.
I don't understand the thumbs down, what happens to domestic animals that have been abandoned? they can't go in to the wild, they can't stay at a shelter forever, once it gets too old, it may be put down, by adopting one, op could well save another bunny's life.
You're a good person
Exactly, save a bunny and give it a home. Your bunny will be happy to have a home.
That must have been a hare-raising experience.
How did you get close enough with a lawnmower to actually kill the poor thing? There are bunnies running all over my neighborhood and they don't let anything get within 50 feet of them.
Baby bunnies will indeed freeze, rather than run away. My husband ran over a nest of bunnies with our mower once. One scooted off, but the rest of them stayed put. Fortunately, in our case, they all survived.
That is horrendous!! I would've gone inside at sat down till the next day. Damn...
So why didn't you leave the mowing for another day, or at least avoid that area? You only have yourself to blame for this.
You obviously have never mowed a lawn. If you leave it for another day it'll all be uneven unless you do the whole thing over, and if the bunny was in thick grass it would be damn near impossible to find it again.
That means OP ran over the same bunny mentioned earlier in the FML. If that's what you were wondering.
I've no idea what you mean, but I just thought it was an honest question you asked.
66, Yeah... Sensitive people..
Poor little bunny, never had a chance.
Poor bunny :( The rest of his family must be hopping mad at you.

Oh no, poor little bunny. Although, that must've been traumatizing for you to see and go through. My condolences. :(
