Today, while working at a gas station, I accidentally changed the price of gas to 8.9 cents per litre. It took me fifteen minutes to figure out why everyone wanted only two or three dollars of gas. I fixed it, but now my managers are debating charging me for lost revenue. FML

Do they even pay you enough for you to be able to make up the lost revenue?

If only people had the integrity to tell someone... However, double checking can never be done too many times, so look at this as a lesson for next time.

yikes. fml and ydi, that's a huuuge error. But that's also a lot of money :( Hope they don't stick it to ya.

Just a quick note OP in ontario if you cause a loss of revenue by accident or for any reason other than malicious intent an owner can not dock your wages the can fire you if you're on probation during your first 3 months of work however if they even think of trying to make you pay for the lost revenue go straight to the labour board they will get you your money it is illegal to force someone to pay for a mistake at their work

You might want to check, but I believe that's illegal! They can't take the money out of your pay. Good luck!

so what is the normal price for liters... here you pay 1.50 for benzine and 1.20 for gas.

they can't legally make you pay for anything. if they try, take them to the labour board.

This is horse manure. I've worked at many many gas station over the past decade, and ALWAYS 100% of the time, you need manager clearance and passwords to change the price of gasoline in the computer system. It requires going into specific menus and confirming multiple times. So either OP made it up, or you are functionally retarded.

I had a friend get fired for doing that.

I work at a gas station as well and boss would charge me in a heartbeat.
