Today, my fiancée bought me a luxury getaway to the Maldives, complete with a five-star hotel and first-class plane tickets. Too bad she used my credit card, with all the money I was saving for our wedding. FML

I’m trying to figure out how you save money on a credit card? A credit card isn’t cash, it’s credit. Saving requires acquiring the cash, and stockpiling (saving) it. You can’t save credit.

I suggest having a serious talk with her about money. If she is behaving this erratically now, she is bound to splurge again in the future. Money is not everything in a relationship, but it is important enough to break up a couple if one partner keeps on spending and expects the other to earn it.
