Unreasonable demands

Today, my close friend who’s always been incredibly vocal about how much she hates children, never wants to be around them or have anything to do with them, stopped speaking to me. She’s incredibly "hurt" that I asked another friend to be my unborn child's godmother instead of her. FML

She wanted to be asked so she could say no. It's a bizarre show of respect.

She deserves it. When my twin sister had a baby she knew very well I'm no godmother material and asked a close friend. I didn't complain, I very much so support her decision.

And then rant about being asked on r/childfree for easy karma

See? It's a win-win-win! Outrage seems to be the favorite emotion currently. People love the opportunity to vent righteous indignation. If they can't rant about being child-free, they can at least rant about your snub.

I'd point out all that... she deserves it... sorry she's being a bitch.

You can have more than one god mother! Ask her!

Doubt that she'd want "sloppy seconds" though....

Your friend is behaving exactly like the CINC. Woe to you! :-(

You did nothing wrong. Hopefully she gets over it, otherwise she’s not a very good friend.
