the state should have a copy of the will as last updated in their probate division. at least that is what we ran into when we lost some family. without that, you, as spouse gets everything.
Not it all states. In Texas, if you die intestate (without your nuts, for some reason) 2/3 of your estate goes to your children and 1/3 to your spouse.
If there's a will, there's a way. At this point, it's easy to think the son is a heartless, greedy prick, but we don't know the whole story.
