Wrong end of the stick

By anonymous - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United States - Saint Paul

Today, while I was jogging, a guy tackled me and got my iPhone. Being a good runner, I caught up with him and grabbed him. Next thing I knew, I was on the ground with a policeman yelling in my ear. The thief got away. FML

Bad boys bad boys what you gonna do what you gonna do when they're mistaken for you?

So I assume the police-man thought you were attacking/mugging the guy, in which case, that is really unfortunate.

**** police. Always sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. I got pulled over for supposedly ripping up a softball field with my car. The clueless dick of an officer didn't think to look at my dirt less tires?!?

To the op Atfer the cop tackled you and stop yelling I would of yelled at the cop and told him what was going on because the cop would of know the mistake and run after the real thief

Brilliant. (That's sarcasm, btw).

Thats just what they do. I understand why the police officer could have been mistaken and I know he probably had heard so many excuses before he just didnt buy it. I little bit of thinking would go a long way though. He could have detained them both and asked for the cell phone number, which only the owner would know. Problem solved.

Did you explain your situation and get your iphone back?

I thought those high-tech new iPhones came with an iSlapyou function for these situations...

OP can you please elaborate on the whole situation - like why the cop was yelling at you? Thanks

Because the cop thought OP was trying to steal the phone? Seemed like that implication was pretty obvious...

The police officer really handled that situation.

Even if you get charged for assault, he would still be charged for leaving the scene of the crime.

Police incompetence strikes again!
