Today, while standing by the kitchen window I noticed a mouse running across our lawn on top of the snow. I called my two daughters to come see it, but by the time they got to the window a hawk was shredding the poor thing to pieces. My kids didn't stop crying for two hours. FML

Today, I came home to find a mouse in the garage. Frantic, I killed it. My 7-year-old son came home from soccer, and started crying because he couldn't find the class pet, Mr. Whiskers. I killed my son's class pet. FML

Today, I ran over a squirrel. I saw it twitching, so I backed over it to end its suffering. It wasn't a squirrel; it was a kitten. The children it belonged to watched as I ran over their kitten. Twice. FML

Today, I found a mouse stuck in a glue trap at work. I had to take it home to get it off with oil, and then I released it outside. Twenty minutes later, the cat returned it to me, dead. After that, the dogs dug it up where I buried it. Sorry, mouse. FML

Today, I ran into my infant daughter's room because I thought I heard her crying, and found she was still sound asleep in her crib. The screams were coming from the mouse our cat was using to paint her bedroom walls. FML

Today, I found my cat downstairs with a squirrel dangling from his mouth. When I saw this, I yelled at my cat to put it down. He did. Turns out the squirrel was still alive and run. I had to spend the next three hours chasing it out of my house. FML

Today, I woke up to my disabled mother screaming for me. Fearing the worst, I hopped out of bed only to find that she was yelling because her cat had brought a field mouse inside as a gift. The problem? It was still alive. I had to get it from him and throw it outside. FML

I don't think you guys understand, little kids don't like to see little animals torn to shreds. So yes, of course they cried. I'm sure mom will let them know (hopefully) that yes, this is a part of life. But, still those of you calling the kids pansies or ******* need to realise little kids don't want to things be killed! You guys need to shut up and know this probably scared them. At 4, 5 or how ever old they were, they don't understand this stuff. even though it was just a gross, diseased filled mouse (in my opinion) but to little kids its a small cute animal.

**** mice, if anything the hawk is the cute one in that scene. Sure kids have the right to be innocent until they're good and ready to accept the world for what it is but crying for 2 hours, that is truly pathetic. God help them if they see anything more intense, like say a hawk ripping apart a squirrel, that'll be for 4 hours! TWICE THE GUTS TWICE THE TEARS!
