There's nothing wrong with giving him a chance, but it's also not her fault if she's not attracted to him. Just because she hasn't been asked out much doesn't mean she should have to settle for someone she doesn't like. Also, the FML isn't that he wants to date her, it's that she doesn't want to have to reject him. Rejection can be hard, you have to worry about the other person's feelings and also about what happens if he doesn't take rejection well.
