I think those of you calling him judgmental are just ridiculous. He's his FATHER. He has every right not to approve of MLP **** and his son drawing it. On top of that, it's technically illegal for him to draw and submit such images anyway. This is coming from a Pegasister who would fully expect her dad (or mom) to not approve. I'm a brony myself, and I agree that others take it too far sometime. But you should not scold him for watching the show.

Whilst my little pony seems to be an ageless mystery appealing to a large span of people there is a dark side to the fandom. Even the creators do not understand why it became so dark but they do not interfere with it. As to your son I wouldn't say that he is strange or unbalanced, more than likely will be successful and have a healthy relationship with gf/bf later in life. The expression of "norm" is only valid to the community obeying it.
