He is most certainly going to hell.
You know you love it Op.
Hell about as real as MLP.
OP...Ah, OP... I don't know how to feel, but obviously, that's not good.
That is pretty judgmental. I draw **** for a living and my parents are cool with it. I mean sure, I'm 25 so it's a little different, but I've been running a freelance art business since I was 13. I know a lot of artists in the MLP **** market, and it's basically a license to print money. They're making some serious bank off of that stuff, and if he's smart about it he probably is too. You may find it gross, but if he has the talent and skill to be running a business at his age, that's an impressive skill to have.
He's likely still in shock. I doubt he actually thinks his son is going to hell. You turned it into a business and well paying one which is great, and he should support his son if he enjoys drawing in general. Some of these things are niche markets and the odds of making a stable career ( while it does happen) is a fairly niche market potentially. Also, as far as everyone judging yes you should be open to other people's ideas and what have you, but just because it's an idea doesn't mean it isn't unsound or isn't a bad idea. He's just expressed his surprise that he found found his kid drawing cartoon horse ****. That would off putting just because of the surprised let alone what it might mean in the future.

Yeah, you don't sound judgmental at all...
if my son was doing that I'd be pretty judgmental too, that's just weird on too many levels
