Today, I met my boyfriend's extended family. His grandpa was apparently senile, as he kept calling me "Tilly" and asking me to dance. His relatives thought this hilarious and busted out the video camera. Later, I learned his grandpa is not senile at all - the family was playing a joke on me. FML

Today, my boyfriend and his parents met my family. My grandpa thought it would be funny to walk around with a realistic gun and make references about being in the mafia. The rest of my family went along with it. FML

Today, I was taking my boyfriend to meet my grandparents. They live on the 27th floor. Alone in the elevator we started making out. Turns out that there's a camera in the elevator, connected to every apartment. My grandma asked me how it was. FML

Today, being the nice grandchild that I am, I went to visit my grandmother. She didn't recognise who I was. I thought she was joking. She later called the police as, "Some weirdo had walked into her house." I'm that weirdo; she wasn't joking. FML

Today, I met my boyfriend's family. He calls his parents things like “geriatric hag” and “old clown”. I was about to yell at him, but they started calling him “nancy boy” and “nerd”. Apparently they love each other, but only communicate through abuse. I can’t believe I may soon marry into this mess. FML

Normally, I would agree with you. But, in this instance I think it's perfect. This is in no way an FML. The family sounds wonderful, funny, and very accepting and inclusive. I'm thinking OP needs to have surgery to get that stick removed. If it were me, I would've laughed until my guts hurt lol

I agree too... out of all the things fked up with the world we get stories about ppl dancing, reading the word "lice" on some man's hand, and dropping out of classes before they know their grade... Granted, if every FML was about someone close dying it would turn into a super morbid place but at this point most of the trolls have run out of content besides the ever-popular hating on snickerdoodles/women... :-/

I thought this was more for comic relief than a true "my life is F'ed". Although some of the FMLs are lame, the replies can be pretty funny. I don't know if I'd want to read a whole bunch of "Today, an earthquake trapped me next to my crushed mother and father....", would you?
