man, do you not know how a woman's mind works. If you spent 20 minutes putting together some old pictures of you and her together on a peice of paper, folding it, and write a little quick note on the inside, maybe throw a flower with it, she'll love that more than if you bought her a cadillac. Well maybe not that much, but come on man you gotta do that sometimes. Or at least throw a nice homemade card in with the $300 dollar present. I made my mom a card like that the last 2 years, mothers day morning before she woke up, and she loved it.
OMFG PRICELESS!
id probably agree with 11...either that or it reminds her of when you were little.....one or the other
you should sit down with your mom and look through photos from when you were a kid, specifically ones with you and your mother, if she happens to mention which one is her favorite, take that one(or have a copy made) MAKE a frame for it, and write a poem or something to go with it. The frame sounds a little childish, but that's what she would love about it, and the poem would make it a little more adult. I did that for my mom this year, and she cried.

just goes to show money doesn't buy happiness
At least your Mom cares for the sentimental things. Mine bitched at me for not getting her anything. I'm 1,000 miles away and unemployeed. Called her several times throughout the day to at least wish her a Happy Mother's Day. She never picked up. She only called back to bitch at me.
