Today, I took my mom out to a fancy restaurant, and spent close to $300 on her Mother's Day present. Later, my little brother drew her a card with crayons on pink construction paper. She cried. He's 20 years-old. FML

just goes to show money doesn't buy happiness

At least your Mom cares for the sentimental things. Mine bitched at me for not getting her anything. I'm 1,000 miles away and unemployeed. Called her several times throughout the day to at least wish her a Happy Mother's Day. She never picked up. She only called back to bitch at me.

It's sad that you tried to win your mom over with money and still lost to your brother.

Is your little brother mentally challenged? If so, I can see why she'd cry about getting a card made by him. If not, then he's lazy and your mom's an idiot.

Well, now you know what to do next year! Sometimes it's the simple things.

You have to understand a mother's love for things made by her child, no matter how old.

Handmade gifts are better. They come from the heart.

Are you sure she wasnt crying with pity? ;)

Makes sense that this is in NL, where we have a really high incest rate, he could easily be a special little snowflake
