it's more like... Today I was swimming and the lifeguard jumped in, creating a huge scene, because she thought I was drowning. I wasn't drowning, but I guess it looked like I was since I only have one arm. FML hahaha but honestly this is worse for the one armed guy than for you op.

You did your job. That's the good thing with it all. I'd rather get yelled at for offending someone like that instead of doing nothing and they had really been drowning. The latter, is obviously worse.
