Wow Mr Cat reacted just like a typical cat would and this was probably Mr Cat's point of view as the OP attempted to give Mr Cat a shower: 1) K it's cool that i chill with you in the empty tub for a bit (OP puts Mr Cat in the tub and steps in) 2) What's that noise and what's that coming towards me? (OP has just turned on the faucet) 3) OMFG it's water!!! I'm getting the **** outta here!! (OP turned the shower on) 4) Help!! How do i get out?? (Mr Cat starts frantically trying to get away from the stream of water hitting him and tries everything to get out of the water including scratching the shit out of the OP cause he is in the way of the escape route) 5) That was the most horrible experience ever! (Mr Cat escapes the tub and the OP is left scratched to ribbons) Sooooo sorry to say OP in a way YDI and it's more of a FTCL than yours i mean how could you not know that the cat would react this way? And being naked and therefore vulnerable to the cat's claws is just plain stupidity But at the same time i have to say FYL for getting hurt as bad as you did blood infections are very dangerous and can be fatal if not treated right away i hope this was a big learning experience for you and i hope you don't hold anything against the cat for reacting the way he did

YDI. REALLY BAD IDEA TO WASH A CAT IN A SHOWER, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NAKED TOO AND IN THE SHOWER, NO MATTER HOW CONVENIENT IT SEEMS. For one thing, cats wash themselves and if you insist on trying to wash them, try wiping a damp washcloth gently against the dirty spots on their fur. If they are covered in something, you should try to wash them in a sink, fully clothed (preferably with extra gear, I'm not even joking), gloves, and a tight grip on them. Then, you have to shower them (teehee, I made a funny) with treats and lots of love, hugs, attention, pets, and praises, because that bath will be one of the most miserable times in their life. Also, use hypoallergenic cat wash! Never human wash! And make sure to get all of it off, because they will lick off the remainders! If it's a kitten, it should be easier to wash.
