But....I don't get how hiccups could be confused with a seizure
Silent but violent hiccoughing would result in a body shuddering from the shock, which could well look like convulsions. And if they are the kind where it doesn't make sound you usually can't talk during that time, you're barely getting air. At least in my experience with the silent ones. It looks like the person is being hit with a shock every 4-10 seconds, so, yeah, I can see how it would be mistaken for convulsions easily b

I'm really not understanding how a hiccup can be confused with a seizure.
Technically you are, as a hiccup is a spasm of the diaphragm
