Computer says no

By firelava - This FML is from back in 2014 but it's good stuff - United States - Grand Prairie

Today, I waited two hours in line at college to select my classes. I finally got to the desk, only to be told I have to apply online before I can show up in person. FML

If college has taught me anything, it's that you always read the directions to everything.

Goes online, *Site Down due to scheduled maintenance please go to campus to apply for classes*

Murphy and his law would love for that to happen. Thank you, Murphy.

Don't they give you a step by step process for applying? Ydi for not paying attention

I thumbed you down for saying OP deserved it.

I thumbed you down for saying I thumbed you down for saying op deserved it.

So that is the reason you didn't go to college? Keep telling yourself that if it helps you feel better.

That's too bad well now you know for next semester

Damn I was told that too. It was Soooooo annoying

You really thought you could sign up for classes before getting in let alone applying to the school? Am I missing something? I thought that was pretty obvious

I'm wondering the same thing. The way it reads makes it sound as if OP has not even applied to the school yet. There is no way someone could think you could just walk up to any college and pick your classes, is there?

The college I went to, you had a choice of either choosing your classes at orientation or the week when you move into your dorm.

I was taking a lot of college courses in highschool. I was informed, given that I was commended on all my TAKS tests that I was automatically accepted into the local community college. I didn't realize it necessitated a formal process online, versus just filling out the info in person-which I thought would be better so I could ask questions on the paperwork.

Pretty much everything is done online now! even selecting your classes.

How are you going to reform a system that you are not involved in? The best opportunities for reform come from within... Plus, you can't reform something that you actually don't have a vast understanding of (which is difficult to gain if you've never actually been involved in that system).

There's nothing worse then waiting in seemingly never-ending lines. Except for finding out you did so in vain. Truly sucks . Hopefully you'll still be able to get the classes you wanted.

As an impatient person I know that has to suck. FYL. Hope you get your classes though
