Got the same problem OP, most of the time you just can't eat anything

Like others have asked, did you actually ask the person who made the cake or just random people who were there?

Did the cake have one of those pictures printed on the top? A friend had a cake like that for her daughter's graduation. She ended up taking her son to the ER because, unknown her her, those pictures use walnut oil!

I didn't know how badly I was allergic to nuts which is why I always check, normally they just make me sick. And I asked the chef whether or not there were nuts!

Some people can be so allergic that they cannot have food that has been in the same room/surface an item has been on hence why some packets of food say 'prepared on the same equipment as...' Maybe also they have an unforeseen allergy that they are not aware of? Also, did they have an epipen on hand?

You know if you're that allergic you should really be more careful about what you eat.

Where stupidity is concerned, that takes the cake!
