Honestly, getting out of that environment is probably the best thing for you. If your dad can’t be supportive it’s better you don’t have him in your life until he can get behind your very commendable aspirations. Is there a friend you could stay with, or can you afford a place on your own? If not maybe a roommate? Good luck to you OP, I hope everything works out in the end.
Why would you want such a terrible job? The pay is terrible and society as a whole doesn't like and respect them. Enough people believe that police are a necessary evil, but there are few who admire them. You should upgrade your ambition to telemarketer.
There are times when it’s best not to share everything with parents. Get out, get on your own, and then follow your dream… By the way, in the USA you cannot kick out your children if they are under 18. But no doubt jailbird Dad could make it miserable living there.
Oh man. An ex-con living with a police officer in training is almost as traumatic as a vegan activist living in the same neighborhood as a barbecue place!
