That's where you grab him by the ear and say, get your ass up and drive me to your place to get my damn jacket so I can get out of your life for good! Idk something fierce! Anyways congrats for sticking up for yourself OP your now free from his sorry ass! Hope you got your jacket back
Beginner's mistake.
Empowered and strong? So your a screamer? Lol jk but forget the jacket. Acceptable losses. Unless its -5 degrees.
Please tell me you didn't go back.
YDI for spending the weekend with an ex.
Show up with a friend or police and ask for it back.
Well, you should probably give up on the coat. Personally I'd have you thrown in county for assault. Also why were you spending a weekend with your ex? I have no pity for people who resort to violence and then have a pity party about a coat. YDI.
Uh? Where in the FML does it say she hit him? The quote "hit him where it hurts" is a phrase, meaning her words mentally affected him. Also, I'm pretty sure she referred to him as her ex because she broke up with him AFTER the fight and wanted to avoid people constantly commenting "you mean your EX-boyfriend, right?" Even if not, why would she deserve it for hanging out with her ex? I really don't get why you're so angry at OP.
Really, hurting people makes you feel empowered and strong? Two wrongs don't make a right.
#81 Often when a woman refers to hitting a man 'where it hurts' she means literally/physically. That's how I interpreted this FML as well at first; this FML requires a follow-up, it's honestly not clear which way OP meant it (yes it is a figure of speech but it is also often used literally and the context in this FML simply doesn't give enough information either way). In any case, #73's comment still doesn't lose much of its merit; even if it was only verbal #73 still has a point, you shouldn't feel empowered hurting somebody - breaking up with somebody upon realising the relationship was unhealthy and verbally bashing them are not the same thing.

Honey, if he was that bad, it's worth losing the coat. Congratulations for standing up to him. It's definitely not an easy thing to do.
Well, time to go ask for it back. Be nice about it, just for the coat.
