Today, I sent a cover letter in which I bragged about my exceptional attention to detail. After it was sent, I noticed the company name and address were from a different job application. FML

One time, I mentioned my attention to detail and solid (but basic) computer skills while filling out an online application form. On the next page, I proceeded to click that I had multiple felonies instead of a clean record, and when I tried to change it I somehow submitted the application half-finished. I still got an interview, though they ended up not hiring anyone due to budget cuts.

And now your potential employers will think you believe the word "exceptional" means "terrible." This is why we read and revise before we finalize.

It's not bragging if it's true, a point which is not in this FML. Brilliance, OP. Always reread.

If you can't walk the walk don't talk the talk. ( please correct me if I have this saying wrong)

It takes but five seconds to look things over. Five seconds, and this could've been prevented.

Sometimes you can check things over but if you are tired you can miss something. It is best to leave it and come back to it.
