My mother always takes money from where I stash my savings. The only difference between your mother and mine, OP, is that my mother doesn't open my mail, ensure that I do not see said mail, and then lie to her mother in order to take my money without my consent; my mother leaves a note that says "IOU $[amount]" (signed "Mom" with little hearts), verbally tells me as soon as possible, and has me check to make sure she counted right. (Well, at least, until a few months ago. She's started acting all bitchy because I've begun to express love towards my father [whom she... intensely dislikes, to put it in kinder terms]; she used $70 of my money on a purchase and refuses to give it back because 'she's my mother'. I'm not lending her money ever again; I've changed the combination to my vault.) Anyways... Call your grandmother and expose her daughter for the underhanded scum (no offense intended) she is.
that's horrible :(
