Don't let your step-sister's bitchy attitude make a bad day even worse. Your step-dad clearly meant a lot to you; you're allowed to be sad about his passing. No one can take that away from you.

I'm sorry for your loss, OP. I lost my step father three years ago. My half sister, his daughter, said something similar to me. Death is such a horrible time, making people say such vicious things. Hopefully she took it back & apologized.

You should've said that you were crying because it wasn't her in the casket

Grief can make people not think clearly. If she is young or this is the first death of somebody close to her that she has experienced it may be especially confusing for her. When a good friend of mine died another friend reacted by lashing out at people, blaming people when it made no sense at all, etc. She just had never experienced grief like that and it was overwhelming.

I disagree. Anyone can make a baby but any some people are dads. My sisters are all half sisters but my dad has treated them lien his own. They have never felt like step sisters to me

I'm sorry op. I get it. This fml hit pretty close to home... My step dad is currently dying of cancer. It breaks my heart that such a loving and caring man is going to lose his life while my "real" dad is a deadbeat loser!! People really need to learn that step doesn't mean less than. My step dad loves me like his own daughter and that is the mark of a true man!!!

I lost my dad (step dad) in September, but he was the one who was there and raised me. ?? To me he was my father.
