Get back here!

By matte - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - Australia

Today, whilst working at Subway, I took an order for 6 footlongs. The entire process took 15 minutes due to the customer's hesitant and glacial pace. When it came to paying, he pulled out his wallet, looked inside, looked at me, and walked quickly out of the store. FML

Damn man, that really sucks. I work there too and I hate it when they order even 2! But 6, and all for naught? Shit!

#43: Hey, at least that mom had a legit reason. She forgot... so what? It's only remaking one little sub. Customer service. At least she's still buying a sub for her kid. I'd feel bad for the kid to have mayo allergy. But I don't understand the logic of "people should tip more if they are buying a big order". What difference does it make between 1 person buying 5 subs, and 5 person buying 1 sub each? It's still the same amount of money and probably less time for the former one, so why should the former tip more? The store needs less paper/plastic bags for the former order too, no?

That really, really sucks. :( I've worked in fast food before--shit like this happens all the time. Working in places like this really gives you perspective for when you're in the real world later, and interacting with those people who do what you used to do for a living. Whenever I go for fast food I'm as polite as I can be, because I've been there. They're doing YOU a service by making your damn food for you, and most of the time if you're good to them, they'll be good to you. I've gotten extras for being nice to people like that. Even if its just like extra sauce or something for free, it's cool. More people need to be nice to their local subway guy. :D Hope your manager wasn't mad at you for having to throw out those six subs!

I feel your pain man. I worked at subway for a year and a half. That Five Dollar Footlong bullshit pisses me off. I would've been pissed at his pace. I was used to 70 sandwich hours during the rush.

Call the cops. He owes you.

finish your story. did he come back? did he say he was going to go get money? did he have a credit card elsewhere? or was this just a prank that owned all of you? btw, who cares that you had tondo that? I worked at subway and I'd much rather be making that sandwich fleet than washing dishes. either way, you get paid.
