Sorry to hear that and I hope your husband learned to many not steal people's stuff.
Shame on him. What kind of an example is that for your son? FYL, OP.
What a knob, Awesome movies effort....

Show it anywayPopcorn is expensive.
it's POPCORN.
Ya, but also take into consideration the fact that a stranger, who's been touching who knows what, took it upon himself to stick his hands in the food you're eating. Nevermind the type of food, I would be pissed about him ruining it with his germs and wasting my money.

Show it anywayJust popcorn? No. But spreading who knows what type of infectious germs, sickness, and/or diseases to me? Maybe.
#26 is right. I don't even eat gas station donuts because who know who has been picking their nose, scratching their ass, or adjusting their balls and then rifling through the donuts? I certainly don't want a stranger sticking their fist in my bucket of popcorn.
but is your bucket of popcorn worth assault charges? big Joe in prison: Hey, what're you in for? You: Punching a guy in the face for stealing my popcorn. Big Joe: O o
No because its not about the popcorn. But is someone potentially giving me MRSA, stomach flu, or any other type of transmittable disease or sickness that would cause me to miss work, compromise my health and pass on to my family worth it? Again, I say maybe. I dont mean to keep going back and forth but im trying to explain how the reaction, although it may seem extreme, could be justifiable. Im no expert in sickness and diseases or any of that, but I would imagine there is a plethora of diseases/sicknesses that can be passed onto you by eating food touched by someone with contaminated hands. Like someone said, who knows what they were touching/doing before putting their hands in the popcorn bucket.
Not to mention the fact that it was a continuous action. I could see being at the movies with someone and mistakenly reaching to the wrong side at a strangers popcorn, but to keep doing it? Im sure the stranger corrected him at least once. Seems like Ops husband was provoking the situation.

Show it anyway*sigh. Sure, okay. It was all over popcorn. Not over invading his personal space repeatedly, not over spreading his germs, not over ignoring im sure at least one request to stop, not over provoking him, not over interrupting his overpriced movie, just over...popcorn. The stranger is really protective of his popcorn. Maybe we should just agree to disagree? :-)
How would you feel if a stranger sitting next to you at a restaurant started helping himself to your food from the table next to you repeatedly? Also, you wouldn't go to prison for punching a dude unless you killed them with the punch, or caused them enough damage. You would most likely be charged and get a fine to pay to the "victim" and the court. That is if the judge ruled in favor of this dude.
It's not so much about the food, but the principle of it. It's no different than if you were at mcdonalds and someone at the table next to you grabs your burger and takes a bite out of it. OPs husband deserved it, and hopefully the cops told him as much.
People took their kids to see Deadpool. Just because a child is in the theater does not mean that the movie is "obviously meant for children," you stubborn twit.
What's the bigger crime: what your husband did or the cost of theatre popcorn?
Well your husband shouldn't be a thief. He's should've been have been setting an example for your son.
I dunno why, but it is so funnyv
Sounds like your husband deserved what he had coming its just to bad your kid had a first hand experience what a jackass he can be
I would be pissed too if some ass hole tried to take my popcorn
