I think your mom takes learning about the birds and the bees a little too seriously!
Science 101
It's a good thing to encourage your kids to learn about science. Encourage though, not force.
Get grounded.
Seeing as how your mother is a biology teacher, she should be aware of the filth and disease wild birds can spread. I hope she sanitized it before making you two dissect it... it could have had fleas.

I remember when i was 6 or 7 years old, and i asked my mother where babies came from, and she took me, and my sisters to work, where i saw 3 c-sections... and today i am almost graduation from med school. I fell in love with science and medicine in a very young age. So, it could be a good experience for OP.
well she's right isn't she.
Sounds fun :)
I wouldn't be complaining! I always loved dissecting animals in school. I don't understand why a lot of people don't like it.
Because it's cutting open a dead animal! If op is an animal lover, or hurls easy, this could be horrifying.

My mom is a science teacher. I feel your pain OP.
Good experience for when you have to do it in school but that's still horrifying. FYL.
