Great parenting, mom

Today, as always, I have autism and it is physically painful for me to make eye contact. I read that you can solve this by looking at the person’s ears or nose. Except my mom can somehow tell when I’m doing this, and she yells and screams at me for not looking her in the eye. FML

I do not have autism, but it is also difficult for me to make eye contact. I generally look at the eyebrows or I look at the direction of eyes, but slightly unfocused.

I'm sorry, you're going through this. I have a sibling with autism and I cant imagine being such a jerk about not being able to look in the eyes. I dont know how helpful this is, but I have issues public speaking. I was taught that if you look at the eyebrows or right in between them, it looks very similar to eye contact. I hope she stops being a jerk, I wish you all the best ♡

Eye contact must be a cultural thing. I have learned eye contact is rude and intrusive
