Help! I need somebody!

By crippled shopper - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United States - Streamwood

Today, I went shopping first thing in the morning to avoid the crowd. Having recently had surgery on my knee, I used an electric scooter to shop. The scooter died in the middle of the store. No one was around to help me. FML

Damn, where is that 'emergency boost' button when you need it?

Yeah....electronics tend to have this thing called a "Battery indicator", you should try checking it sometime, helps avoiding these situations.

The scooter may have died, but at least you were emotionally charged.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that. Nothing could be much worse than having to depend on others, and not having help when you need it the most. FYL ps: If you happen to be an engineer, I guess you could convert the engine into bio-fuel, then run it on vegetable oil off the shelf.

At least people should be there sometime in the next couple of hours... Try calling a family member or friend for help. If not, just wait. I hope you don't suddenly need to pee...

Don't call a family member, call the store. I got trapped in an Office Max bathroom once. I called them on the phone and they got me out with power tools. Just call them.

^really? That's a shitty situation. No, jk. Honestly though, that's an unfortunate set of circumstances if they needed power tools.

Why didn't you use a regular wheelchair instead? I'm thinking that you can walk again in maybe 6 months, max? Would you really buy a very expensive scooter for such a short period or am I missing something?

Some stores have electric scooters for fat people. They aren't really for fat people but they are the ones who end up using them.

I choked on my coffee... Best reply ever

As a fat person I resent that. But when you're right you're right. Why is it only fat people use them. And get mad at the store when a skinny person with a leg cast is in "their cart".

Most big stores have a few electric carts at the front with the normal carts.

I'd like to add, that I have only seen these in america. Never in Europe.

Ah. Well we don't have that where I live, as I live in Europe, so I was just wondering, not trying to insult. So, thanks for all the thumbs down! Just asking a question.

"All senior citizens should have Life Alert!"

Even with 3rd degree burns up my leg, I much rather crutch it. That way I don't feel fat and lazy. Laugh it off though, OP. You could have lost control of it and ran into a display somewhere.

Thats terrible and embarrassing but still funny lmfao

That's evastating, OP! I'm sure you couldn't possibly feel any more helpless. Hopefully someone came to your rescue!
