I agree with some of the other posters you should always check the battery before you set out in to the store. it is your own fault for not checking. especially after you've just had knee surgery . you also should not be out after knee surgery should be propped up in bed not worrying about going grocery shopping maybe 1 of your friends should have helped you
Should have bought a hybrid.
Why didn't you just call the store and ask for help? This happened to me right after I had back surgery, except the store was packed and no one would help me. They all just went around me or said get out of the way handicap. I finally just called the store and told the operator where I was and management soon came to help me.
1. If you have trouble walking, don't go shopping alone. 2. When in trouble, shout or use your cell to call somebody. Using a smartphone with gps you can quickly find store location and contact number to call employee to help you.
As I told #10, saying she should have a friend she goes to the grocery store is not only impractical but also incredibly insensitive. Clue up.
61, Knee surgery does not mean permanent disability, so no reason to start "adapting" to it. Clue up.
33/65: Something does not have to be permanent to have a large impact on your life, and require adaptation. While not permanent, knee surgery is most definitely involved with a long-term injury, some of which comes before the surgery and some after. This is something that takes many months. If you'd like proof, please feel free to hit yourself in the knee with a sledge hammer, get surgery, and see whether or not you require adaptation between the initial injury and 'complete' recovery. :)
67, you know some people can participate in marathon two weeks after knee surgery. In case you didn't know about it.
Some people, yes. Those people are rare. Most people take 2-3 months to recover from knee surgery, and knee surgeons are really not fans of those who decide to run so soon afterward (feel free to talk to mine, I can give you his #). Not to mention, as I said, that some of the limitations occur before the surgery.
Just call cripple A for roadside assistance.
Use phone to look up store number and call for help.
Okay, please tell me that I wasn't the only one who thought that this was going to turn into a "morbidly obese man comes and takes my scooter away" scenario.

Damn, where is that 'emergency boost' button when you need it?
Yeah....electronics tend to have this thing called a "Battery indicator", you should try checking it sometime, helps avoiding these situations.
